Ferrari welcomes huge crowd of 16,000 visitors on a day tinged with sadness after the untimely passing of Jules Bianchi>

Maranello, 18 July 2015 – More than 16,000 people flocked to Ferrari for Family Day, the annual open-day at the factory complex for employees’ friends and family. The GT production areas, the new GES Racing Division and the Scaglietti facility in Modena were open for occasion with a slew of road cars past and present and, of course, the Formula 1 single-seater also on display. The favourites with the selfie crowd were the LaFerrari and the F2012 on show in front the Chairman’s Office Building with the rest of the models in the current range: the California T, the FF, the F12berlinetta and, naturally enough, the new 488GTB. Chairman Sergio Marchionne and CEO Amedeo Felisa also obliged delighted fans with autographs.

However, the day was also tinged with sadness for the large crowd present after the untimely passing of the young Ferrari Driver Academy driver, Jules Bianchi, overnight.
